RENEWABLE BIOMASS NANO-CO2 PAINT FOR ULTRACOOL BUILDING AND CARBON DIOXIDE ADSORBENT TECHNOLOGY

BOOTH NO : G2

Category : Health, Wellness & Wellbeing

Climate change has become a major concern globally since the last two decades as it contributes to such detrimental effects to the environment. Global warming phenomenon is resulted from the excessive release of greenhouse gases (GHGs), in which the largest portion is coming from carbon dioxide (CO2) emission from a wide range of human activities, including the burning of fossil fuel for energy and transportation, deforestation, industrial processes, and agriculture. As Malaysia is a tropical hot and humid country, smart cooling technology is crucially needed to reduce the dependent on the air condition which high in electricity consumption and greenhouse gases emission due to heat waves and solar radiation. Thus, this NanoCO2 paint innovates the solution by providing ultracool effect in a building through wall or painting surface. The passive cooling by NanoCO2 paint could reduce the electricity from air-condition usage thus lower the energy consumption bill and less CO2 is emitted.
Global warming phenomenon is resulted from the excessive release of greenhouse gases (GHGs), in which the largest portion is coming from carbon dioxide (CO2) emission from the air conditioning system. As Malaysia is a tropical hot and humid country, smart cooling technology is crucially needed to reduce the dependent on the air condition which high in electricity consumption and greenhouse gases emission due to heat waves and solar radiation. Cooling is not only solution, but CO2 gas in the atmosphere is reduced through the paint carbon diffusion mechanism. The Nano-CO2 adsorbent paint is needed to mitigate the climate change issues and important for Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) approach for carbon offset. The application of Nano-CO2 paint covers all interior and exterior wall surface and as road marking paint. This solution will address SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
The market really needs this kind of paint because: 1. Climate Change is Now. World is getting hotter and this global problem needs to be rectified urgently.
2. Malaysia needs to own this technology to mitigate climate change and cooling off the building while saving energy.
3. There is no paint that can adsorb CO2 direct from it source in atmosphere. This has led to a bigger market share because it is a need by everybody in this world.
4. Niche market would be all public listed companies, due to ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) responsibility for carbon offset. The carbon offset will benefit companys profit as tax will be exempted/ subsidized based on how much carbon being reduced or trading-off.
Business Model Canvas is emphasized on USP - Unique selling proposition and VP - Value Proposition
Dealer - Agent business model
Contract Manufacturing with existing paint manufacturing company to reduce the scale-up cost of paint
Pricing Strategy - must be cheaper than NIPPON brand series.
Pricing Strategy - must be cheaper than NIPPON brand series. based on Literature Review and interview made to many hardware shops and customers, NIPPON and JOTUN are the main two brands in the market. Having lower price than NIPPON is a great strategy to win the market.
As nanoparticle being added, the paint has an anti-bacterial characteristic.
Our nanoparticle material is able to act as anti-rust paint and very useful for oil rigs and ship usage.
Cooler building, less air-conditioning usage, less CO2 therefore less electricity bills.
Competitors are current existing paint brand although they are not nano-paint.
However, for paint companies in Malaysia, we are the first to produce a paint with Nano-CO2 adsorbent capability. No one has ever come out with ready-to-market Nano-CO2.
Housing Developers
Hardware shop owners
PUBLIC-LISTED companies - THE disclosure on environmental, social and governance matters, or ESG reporting, was made mandatory by Bursa Malaysia since 2016 to provide evidence for transparency and accountability in business decisions and operations to investors.
